Biological Optimizer: Ways To  BiOptimize Your Brain

In this article, you will learn:

  • How to shift the “gears” of your brain and double your productivity
  • The secret to hacking deeper states of meditation and happiness.
  • How can you use your optimum breathing pattern to unlock more powerful brain performance
  • And much more

The mind shapes the body, and the body shapes the mind. The good news is that following and integrating the habits laid out in this article, your brain will operate at its peak.

You can improve your brain power by training it and optimizing it with various brain techs. You can change your mental state on demand. Feel focused, energized, and creative, and boost verbal fluency. Find out more information by visiting: www.nootopia.com.

Optimizing your brain is critical. According to Dr. Bravermen, author of The Edge Effect, “The difference between a creative mind and senility is only one hundred milliseconds of brain speed. But, unfortunately, many Americans are losing seven to ten milliseconds of brain speed per decade beginning at age forty.”

Unless you’re interested in being senile, having dementia, or suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, we recommend you start taking action immediately.

The Oldest Brain Optimizer

The first ever brain optimizer was meditation. Meditation allows us to control our brain waves and move into different states of consciousness.

Breathing and Meditation

When you participate in deep breathing exercises, it activates the healing part of the nervous system. If you start hyperventilating, that triggers your fight or flight response and vice versa. When you’re in a fight, flight, or freeze, you start hyperventilating because you’re trying to get more oxygen to the brain.

Breathing is the only thing you do, consciously and unconsciously. In other words, you can think about your breathing and change its rate. Or it happens unconsciously. And for most people, it’s unconscious the majority of the time.

Focusing on your breath is one of the best ways to start meditation. As your breath slows down, your nervous system calms down. As a result, your brain waves start slowing down. This is one of the goals of meditation. Slow the brain waves down from beta to alpha and then to theta.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of breathing methods. One of the best ways to start is with a simple 5-6 second inhale followed by a 5-6 second exhale. No breath holding. Nothing fancy.

We did tests that measured our nervous system’s response to various breathing rhythms. One fascinating thing is that when someone tries to hold their breath, slow it down unnaturally, or speed it up – the HRV (heart rate variability) is lowered.

Doing this for 5 minutes can profoundly shift your state of mind. Beta waves lower. Alpha waves increase. HRV goes up.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of effective meditation processes. One of the most researched is gratitude. When you’re feeling gratitude, you’re parasympathetic. You are in a healing mode.

The key is to focus on the sensation in your body. For example, focusing on the feelings of “love and thanks” in your heart.

The Greatest Shortcut Ever for Brain Optimization

Look no further if you’re looking for a shortcut or “hack” to maximize your brain’s performance. The answer is neurofeedback. We have done hundreds of hours of neurofeedback. The results have been life-changing.

  • Massive gains in EQ (emotional intelligence)
  • Increases in IQ
  • Being able to focus for 300% longer
  • Achieving Zen-like states at will
  • Boosts in creativity
  • And much, much more

What is Neurofeedback? It is a brain-measuring feedback system. First, you get these electrodes wired to your brain that measure the electrical activity on the surface of your brain. Then, they feed you what’s happening in real-time via audio, visual, or kinesthetic feedback.

You choose a target brain wave, for example, alpha. If you’re doing the right thing and alpha is increasing, you get a reward in the form of positive, reinforcing audio tones. And if you’re doing the wrong item, it goes silent or quieter. Then your brain realizes, “Whoa, that didn’t work. Let me try something else.”

When you’re doing the right thing and getting those rewards, your brain realizes, “Oh, okay, that’s what I need to do. So let me do more of that.”

Think of it kind of like a GPS. The GPS tells you to turn around while driving so you don’t continue going down the wrong street.

If you’re seeking the ultimate mental brain enhancements, look no further. If money isn’t a consideration, we suggest doing one to two dedicated brain training boot camps annually. These are serious time and money commitments. It’s usually an entire week, costing around USD 15,000.

Is it worth it? If you’re an entrepreneur, executive, or anyone that makes a considerable amount of money using your brain– then absolutely. For example, let’s say you earn $250,000 annually and improve your capacity by 20%. That’s an extra $50,000 a year.

Most people’s brain function begins declining in their 40s and 50s. What if you could add a decade or two of prime brain function? These years could be worth millions. Learn more at www.nootopia.com.

Shining Light Into Your Brain

One of the most promising brain optimization technologies is photobiomodulation, also known as LLLT (lower level laser therapy). You blast your brain with low-level lasers that have specific frequencies.

Here are some fascinating findings on this type of therapy:

  • Increases cerebral perfusion, CBF oxygen consumption, total hemoglobin, and increased oxygenated/decreased deoxygenated hemoglobin concentrations.

Patients with dementia reported improvements in quality of life, functional abilities (i.e., decreased incontinence and increased mobility), better sleep, fewer angry outbursts, and less anxiety and wandering after the PBM treatments.

  • Improves Gulf War Illness symptoms, mood, cognitive domain score, pain, sleep, and fatigue.
  • Has positive effects on nerve cells in a range of neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s Disease (PD).
  • Demonstrated its value as a treatment for neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Brain Supplements

3 foundational brain supplements we believe everyone should take are:

  1. EFA/DHA blends
  2. Nootropics
  3. Magnesium
  4. Lion’s Mane

The brain is an organ made up of 60% fats. It stands to reason, it needs to be fed high-quality fats in the optimal quantities to operate at its best. As a general rule of thumb, 2 grams to 10 grams a day of EFA/DHA blend is a good protocol.

The benefits of taking a high-quality essential fatty acid blend are well documented. The key element for the brain is the DHA. We went in depth discussing EFA/DHA in chapter 8 previously in the book.

Nootropics are powerful cognitive enhancers and the effects are felt almost immediately. Nootopia is completely natural and personalized for your brain chemistry.

If you struggle with brain fog, low drive, difficulty concentrating, slow memory recall, lack of energy, or even feel blue, or constantly worried … Nootopia will be the ace up your sleeve. It’s a total game-changer. To learn more go to www.nootopia.com

We already discussed the many benefits of magnesium in chapter 14.

One of the most powerful brain supplements is lion’s mane. Studies have found that lion’s mane mushrooms contain two special compounds that can stimulate the growth of brain cells: hericenones and erinacines.

Lion’s mane mushroom extract could be extremely powerful for the nervous system. It has been shown to reduce recovery time by 23–41% when given to rats with nervous system injuries.

We recommend a loading phase of 5 grams a day for 60 to 90 days and then switch to a maintenance phase of 1 to 3 grams a day.

Conclusion

One of the most obvious and painful consequences of “normal aging” is mental decline. There’s no need to suffer that fate. The tools, technology, and supplements to stop and even reverse most of that are here now. The key is to start today and maintain these brain habits for the rest of your life.
