How to Cleanse Your Colon and Eliminate Constipation

The colon, also known as the large intestine, is an important organ in the digestive system. Everything starts with digestive health and colon health is an important aspect.

Some people and alternative health practitioners believe colon cleansing is necessary or beneficial for digestive and overall health. The cleanse may help remove toxins and waste from the colon. While some factors of colon cleansing may be helpful, there is no evidence that you do not need to do colon regularly cleanses to be healthy.

What is a Colon Cleanse?

A colon cleanse is when you remove the colon content and stimulate its movement by one of the following methods :

  • Supplement: Usually laxatives, along with fibers or binders
  • Colon hydrotherapy, colonic irrigation, or colonics: Where liquid enema administered rectally flushes out the colon content. You may do this at home or with a colonic hydrotherapist.

What is the Colon, and What Does it Do?

Your colon, or large intestine, is the last part of the digestive tract after the stomach and small intestine. Once the food has reached the colon, most digestion has already occurred. The colon then absorbs the digested materials’ water, minerals, and vitamins. The cecum, appendix, entire colon, rectum, and anal canal are all part of the large intestine.

The colon also houses most of your gut flora, making it an important processing center that influences all aspects of your health. You have a two-way relationship with your gut flora. These microbes influence you:

  • Mood
  • Metabolism
  • Nervous system
  • Digestion
  • Detoxification
  • Immune function
  • Disease risks
  • And more

Conversely, your diet, thinking, stress levels, sleep, and lifestyle determine the composition of your gut flora. Cleansing alters the gut flora, but it bounces back usually between two to four weeks.

Why You Should Cleanse Your Colon

1) Eliminate Waste Stuck in the Colon

Proponents of colon cleansing believe that the colon may hold 4.4 – 40 pounds of waste. The gut can reabsorb some of the toxins from this waste into the bloodstream. So they believe that it’s beneficial to regularly do colon cleanses to boost energy, mental clarity, and metabolism

2) May Reduce Inflammation and Reseal Leaky Gut

Many health problems trace back to intestinal inflammation and leaky gut syndrome, which is why people seek out colon cleanses. However, there is currently limited evidence regarding whether colon cleanses help with these conditions.

If you find yourself with a leaky gut, try probiotics for leaky gut.

3) Reduces Constipation and Restores Healthy Gut Movement

In this study, a colonic irrigation system called the Ashong colonic irrigation apparatus (ACIA) served to help patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The study looked at the efficiency and safety of ACIA in the treatment of IBS.

There were 18 patients in the study, 12 with constipation-dominant IBS (IBS-C) and 6 with diarrhea-dominant IBS (IBS-D). The patients received colonic irrigation twice daily for six days in a row. The results of this study showed that colonic irrigation with ACIA is safe and can alleviate IBS-related abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea.

4) Stimulates the Liver and Gallbladder

Colon hydrotherapy with coffee exposes your gut to coffee, which has a stimulating effect. Proponents of this procedure believe that it also stimulates the liver and gallbladder function.

5) Helps Expel Pathogens and Bad Bacteria

Colon hydrotherapy flushes the gut, which may expel pathogens like parasites, yeast, and gut bacteria. However, it’s not the only way to remove pathogens. Typically, oral supplements are safer and more effective.

You can help your colon out with a colon health supplement. The HERBAL POWER FLUSH contains, as the name suggests, powerful herbs, such as Psyllium seed husk and Cascara Sagrada bark. When the gut physically flushes, it may also flush out unfriendly organisms along.

How to Cleanse Your Colon

Colonic irrigation can have risks and benefits, so you should take it with a grain of salt. People with a history of gastrointestinal disease, colon surgery, severe hemorrhoids, kidney disease, or heart disease are more likely to experience negative side effects.

Here are some more gentle ways to cleanse your colon without the same health risks:

Drink More Water

Water is the main vehicle for your body to eliminate toxins through urine, stool, sweat, and breath. Therefore, drinking enough water daily is important to provide your body with enough water for its natural cleansing processes.

A low fluid intake can cause constipation, so you want to drink enough water accordingly.

Eat Healthy Whole Foods and an Organic Diet

A whole-food, plant-based diet strives to provide as many nutritional plant foods as possible while limiting processed foods, oils, and animal foods (dairy products and eggs) as they are low-fiber food.

Diets high in fruits, fluids, and probiotics are beneficial. Foods high in fiber include:

  • Cereals (rice, corn)
  • Vegetables
  • Fruits
  • Potatoes (with peel)
  • Whole grains

Fiber increases stool bulk and speeds up colon transit, allowing your colon to cleanse its contents.

The Herbal Power Flush

The Herbal Power Flush contains Psyllium seed husk, which is HIGH in fiber and an amazing kick for digestion and colon cleansing. Psyllium is beneficial for digestive regularity. It traps water in the intestine, increasing stool water, and stimulating and easing bowel movement.

Another powerful ingredient is Cascara Sagrada bark. Cascara is a well-known herbal remedy that provides temporary relief for constipation. Cascara is usually well-tolerated and safe for occasional use in reasonable amounts. It functions primarily as a natural laxative, stimulating bowel movement and emptying the colon.

Support Your Natural Defense Against Yeast, Parasites, and Bad Bacteria with Herbal Parasite Guardian

Herbal Parasite Guardian contains 13 powerful herbs—such as black walnut extract which has many health-promoting effects, such as supporting your body’s natural defense against unhealthy gut organisms. All other herbs, including clove stem and garlic root, exhibit anti-parasitic, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial activities. The herbs combine with the digestive enzymes included to help break the microorganisms’ biofilms.

Help your Gut Health with Microbiome Breakthrough

We already mentioned a diet high in fruits, fibers, and fluids. Another honorable mention is, of course, probiotics.

Probiotics may improve gut transit time, stool frequency, and stool consistency, allowing the colon to empty and cleanse its contents. They also introduce beneficial bacteria into the gut, which may boost regularity and overall digestive health.

Get your hands on some prebiotics and probiotics to boost your digestive health. The gut cleanse stack may be the perfect option to ensure the optimum health pack for your gut.
